Jessica Manas commits to play women’s basketball
LONGVIEW – LeTourneau University women’s basketball coach Corey Thomaston
announced Tuesday the commitment of former Haltom High School standout Jessica Manas.
“Jessica is a prototypical point guard,” Thomaston said. “She has good vision, savvy and
instincts. She brings a highly competitive spirit that will mix well with the pieces already
in place. We expect her to make a push for time and assist in taking this program to another
level.”
Manas, a 5-foot-4 point guard, was a member of the Fellowship for Christian Athletes and
earned Academic All-District. She also lettered in track & field.
As a sophomore, she helped lead the Buffalos to a district runner-up finish. Manas helped
guide Haltom to a 28-5 overall record and an 11-1 mark as a junior as the Buffalos captured the
Corsicana, District and Bi-District titles. She garnered most improved as a sophomore and honorable
mention as a junior.
