Michael Lewis is entering his second season as head men's cross country coach at LeTourneau University.

Lewis, who is also the assistant men's basketball coach, is gaining a reputation as a top assistant coach and recruiter in the American Southwest Conference.  He is entering his third season as Bob Davis’ top assistant.  Their relationship dates back to Lewis’ playing days at Eastern Wyoming College where Davis coached Lewis. He is a strong recruiter who has brought in three ASC East Division all-Freshman Team members, one ASC East Freshman of the Year and an ASC East Newcomer of the Year in his first two seasons.

An all-state point guard at Aurora Central High School in Colorado, Lewis played a year at both Florida International University and Metro State after playing at EWC.  He served as team captain at EWC and led the team to its first Region IX tournament championship.

After his playing days, he coached at Aurora Central for five years and has worked numerous Denver Nuggets basketball camps run by NBA head coaches Bernie Bickerstaff and Mike Brown.
