Taylor joins talented 2010-11 recruiting class
LONGVIEW – LeTourneau University men’s basketball coach Bob Davis announced Monday
the commitment of former Elsik High School standout Luke Taylor Jr.
Taylor, who was a three-year letterman at Elsik High School in Houston, Texas, was awarded
Second-Team 18-5A All-District, where he was named Mr. Hustle and Most Valuable Defensive Player in
2009. In his senior year, Taylor was given the Academic Achievement Award and the Big Heart
Award.
The 6-foot-4 guard graduated Cum Laude with a 3.55 G.P.A. Alief Independent School District
acknowledged his volunteer services for outstanding contributions during the 2009-10 school years.
He also received an Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for 2009.
As a member of P.A.L.S (Peer Assistance Leadership Students), Taylor mentors students in
elementary schools and junior high schools, attends community service projects conducting youth
activities, competed for vice president over T.E.S.E, sponsored a can food drive for...
