LeTourneau University Housing Application

This application is for all new-to-LETU students who will be living on campus.  Please use this form to tell us a little about yourself.  We hope to match you with a great roommate, but can't do that if we don't know anything about you.  This form will also let you rank your ResHall preferences.  After you select your gender, the appropriate options will display for you.

Residence Halls
The various residence halls on campus offer several different living options for students. Please rank each residence hall according to your preference: 1 = first choice, 2 = second choice, etc. Choices are honored on a first-come, first-served basis as space allows. For more information about the specific buildings, go to the ResLife Living Options page.

Davis Hall and South Hall have both been intentionally designed with the flexibility to house an ever-changing student population. In both buildings, both men and women will be housed in separate wings or floors with security access systems set only to allow residents into the living areas to which they have been assigned.

For more information about our On-Campus Apartments, please check here.
Limited space in the Village Apartments may be available for men and women who are at least 21 years old or who enter with 60 or more credits with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50.
For information about Residential Societies, please check here.
Three men's society houses exist on-campus (AO, KZX, and LAS). There is also a women's residential society (DOK).

Special Housing Options

Three special living options that we have are: The Honors Commons (located on Davis Hall 1 for students in the LETU Honors Program), International Student Housing (Howe and McKinley Houses are a place to transition to the USA for MKs and international students), Graduate and Upper-Class Housing (Durham and Carpenter Houses are a good options for our older students who are looking for something different than the typical Reshall experience without a roommate). If you are interested in one of these options, please also complete the additional application found at www.letu.edu/ResLifeForms

Roommate Request:
Your roommate preference must also request you as his/her preferred roommate. While we attempt to grant these requests, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to honor your request.

Special Needs: Please indicate any medical or physical limitations that may affect housing.
Comments: Please indicate any specific requests or other comments here.

Roommate Profile
The profile below is simply a tool to help us place you with a roommate. Our aim is not to find another student whose answers are identical, but we do hope to avoid placing students together who have drastically different lifestyles. In either case, it is likely that you will need to approach residential life prepared to seek harmony, to compromise, and to be flexible with your new friends. This form helps most if you answer completely truthfully, so please be honest. (And don't let Mom or Dad fill it out for you).

Please select which response most accurately reflects your feelings or preferences in the following areas:

Cleanliness
I like my area cluttered and comfortably disarrayed, with an unmade bed and belongings scattered throughout.
My room is usually pretty casual, with plenty of room to move around, and I clean up after myself pretty well.
I like to keep my room spotless, very neat and tidy, with everything in a very specific place.
Sharing
Mi casa es su casa, my things are available for general consumption, and I don't even have to be asked
As long as you ask first, many of my belongings can be used by my roommate or a select few friends.
I prefer to keep things separate, so I would wish for others not to borrow my things or eat my food.
Privacy
I don't need much, if any, time alone and way from people.
Though I'll probably have people around quite a bit, I'll be fine as long as I get a little time to myself.
I need a large amount of privacy, so I prefer to preserve my personal space.
Room Temperature
I prefer a cool room.
I'm flexible and can live in a room with moderately fluctuating temperatures.
I prefer a warmer room.
Studying
When I study, I need/like to have the TV on, the radio turned up, and many distractions.
Low noise and a few people are fine while I'm studying, though I may need quiet at some point.
I need absolute quiet when I study, so I may even have to go elsewhere.
Sleep Time
I'm a late-night person and will most likely stay up pretty late and either wake up late or take many naps.
I am pretty flexible and anticipate a varied sleeping schedule.
I'm an early-morning person and will most likely go to bed early so I can get up nice and early.
Sleep Style
I am an extremely heavy sleeper who can snooze through anything - including my alarm.
I am not an unusually heavy sleeper, but I'm not an overly light sleeper, either.
I'm usually a light sleeper, so many lights or frequent sounds will generally disrupt my sleep.
Confronting
I express myself verbally and will most likely tell my roommate exactly how I feel about everything.
I can last for a while, but I will eventually confront my roommate with any areas of concern.
I tend to keep to myself and silently tolerate any potential conflict.
Computers
I will spend only as much time on the computer as I have to in order to complete an assignment.
I use computers for more than homework (including games and surfing the web), but I'm not tied to it.
Computers are my life and I could spend the majority of the day on them if someone would let me.
