Online Course Tools

LeTourneau University faculty use several online systems to maximize their students' learning experiences.University-wide Systems:

• Blackboard Learn 9.1 -- blackboard Learn 9.1 is a flexible, comprehensive online learning management system used by LeTourneau faculty and students to enhance both classroom instruction and online learning. Through Blackboard Learn 9.1, faculty make course material and assignments more accessible to students, provide online forums and chat environments for class discussions, and encourage more active participation of all their students.  Faculty teaching in our online programs use Blackboard Learn 9.1 as the primary vehicle for delivery of instruction. 

Departmental Systems:

• LON-CAPA (Computer Assisted Personalized Approach) -- Physics faculty members utilize LON-CAPA to provide students with personalized problem sets, quizzes, and exams. The system records the students' participation and performance and the records are available online to both the instructor and the individual student.
   
• OwLet (Online Writing and Learning at LeTourneau University) -- The English Department manages this online system aimed at providing ongoing training and support for student writers. The OwLet provides tutorial help for writing projects assigned in all departments, both through Web page instruction and interactive feedback with a trained student tutor. OwLet also offers tutorial units that explain how to research online and document online sources as well as other writing skills.
