SCHEDULE:

Full-time position, weekdays, 4AM - Noon.  Additional hours or weekends on occasion.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Performing routine custodial tasks including, but not limited to: mopping, vacuuming, trash collecting, window cleaning. Washroom/shower sanitizing, carpet cleaning/extracting, hard floor scrubbing/stripping and recoating,special event set-up, equipment/light furniture moving.
Performance of minor maintenance and repairs of custodial equipment.
Training and supervising of assigned student workers.
a.    On the job training of student workers.
b.    Monitoring and retraining student workers in job procedures as needed.
c.    Implementing and complying with LeTourneau University policies as outlined in the Faculty / Staff Handbook.
d.    Implementing instructions from the Assistant Director of Custodial Services.
Other duties as assigned.
 
Routine duties include:
 
1.           Minor maintenance and repairs of custodial equipment.
2.           Custodial tasks including, but not limited to, mopping, vacuuming, trash collecting, window cleaning, washroom/shower sanitizing, and carpet cleaning/extracting.
In performing these duties a custodian uses both light, medium, and heavy equipment (such as extractor/floor buffer).
3.           Proper usage of LeTourneau University supplied chemicals.
4.           Proper usage of safety equipment supplied by LeTourneau University.
 
 
Occasional duties include:
 
1.           Moving and setting up for special events (tables and chairs).
2.           Moving equipment with assistance (such as extractor/floor buffer, wet/dry vacuum, and carpet fan). Moving light furniture (chairs, disassembled beds, small boxes). In performing these duties a custodian will use dollies as necessary.
3.           Pulling out and pushing in Belcher Gym bleachers with assistance as needed.
 
Physical motions include but are not limited to the following: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, scrubbing, bending, squatting, going up and down stairs, continuous standing and walking, and any combination of the preceding.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school education or equivalent fund of knowledge. Must be age 18 or older.
