Student Organizations
There are numerous ways to get involved and gain practical experience on campus. Serve on the student senate, write political columns for the YellowJacket student newspaper or serve as a student director for voter registration.
There are plenty of opportunities available in the East Texas community as well. Work with organizations including the Gregg County Historical Museum, Habitat for Humanity, or one of the many social agencies in the area and the City of Longview, serve as a precinct captain or tutor students in a local school.
The Walter Prescott Webb Historical Society
If you like to discuss politics, current and past events and ideas for making the world better, this society provides a forum for your thoughts. The purpose of the LeTourneau University Chapter of The Walter Prescott Webb Historical Society is to stimulate interest in history, public service and scholarship. We encourage all history and political science majors to participate. However, we do not limit the society to these students. Anyone interested in history and politics is invited.
The Christian Pre-Law Society
LeTourneau University is a member of the Christian Pre-Law Society, an affiliate of the Christian Legal Society. The LeTourneau University chapter promotes pre-law professional development and works with the pre-law advisor to disseminate information and organize trips to law school forums.
The Scienza Nuova Society (SNS)
The Scienza Nuova Society (SNS) of LeTourneau University seeks to stimulate interest in the fascinating fields of the humanities among the student body: such academic disciplines as history, politics, philosophy, literature, religion, theology, and much more. By doing so, SNS also wishes to promote the growth of scholarship and scholarly skills that are required in graduate schools worldwide and that are vital in the intellectually strenuous and challenging world of academia.
